There are still some Radio Shows solely dedicated to Chicago House Sound and its descendants like Funky Disco House or Jackin House. Rumen Petrov aka Discotizer and Pascal Koppetsch aka DJ PaKo from Cologne host such a show on Chicago House FM.

 

Every Sunday 6pm-8pm GMT / 19-21 h CET, they dedicate 2 hours of broadcasting new Disco House Tunes, fresh Jackin‘House and House Classics from the late 90s and the time around the millenium, when Funky Disco House were mainstream.

 

In that time, Rumen Petrov aka Discotizer and Pascal Koppetsch aka DJ PaKo were clubbers in their 20s, attending the vivid House Club Scenes of Cologne, Germany. It was the time they did not knew each other.  After Electronic Dance and Minimal went mainstream and dominated the club scene, they both decided to move behind the decks and promote the long lost genre of Funky Disco House. In 2010 they finally met via social networks and created Our House Is Disco.

 

With their show, Discotizer and DJ PaKo address not only the Underground Scene of Funky Disco House which is still alive and kicking.  People just want to hear good, contemporary House Music without being experts or insiders. That is why they start the show with their “Featured 10.”  They play 10 tracks from classic to current and introduce them to the audience. “Many people ask about the tracks we play during our sets at different locations and where to buy them” said DJ PaKo. “So we decided to give a little view into the vast jungle of Electronic Music being distributed online, we name the tracks and inform the audience what we think of it. That is the purpose of Featured 10.”

 

The remaining time, Discotizer and DJ PaKo show their enthusiasm for their style of House Music. They play groovy sets keeping your feet from standing still! DJ Pako explains their enthusiasm for this music:

“In the late 90s, some people discovered again, the meaning of Disco: Great music, having fun and dance all night long. Put a special spin into attending parties and venues. The days of finding Disco strange, funny and burning Disco records in public were finally over after about 15 years. So begins the fusion of Disco and House. House Music gained another branch that was full of well known Disco tracks, brought together by contemporary beats and grooves and for the crowd to go wild…and they did…we did.”

 

They want to preserve the House Classics of that era, long lost gems cultivate with new releases and promising artists they find for their sets and their shows. “The web is full of such artists and music but you have to dig yourself through a dense jungle with meaningless terms such as Party House, Club House, etc..” PaKo describes what people feel when they try to search the big online stores for good music. “This is what we do because we love this music. We want to share with  people who love Disco House and Jackin Tunes by airing Our House is Disco! Our selection of good, funky, disco-fused House Music!”
