This House Head speaks about the weekend of June 15 and June 16, 2012.  There were 4 events that made an impression on me. There were high points and low points.  They must be addressed.  House DJs must know summer is here.  There are plenty of events will take place. Your game must be tight.  Your House set must be true to form.  This is my take on the weekend in question. You are entitled to make any comments necessary but as a House Blogger, I have the final say.

Good:   The event at Crimson was a huge hit.  It was DJ Meme’s first visit to Chicago.  The man did not disappoint.  My meeting with him was proof positive.  He was warm and very approachable.  He put it down even though the crowd was not your typical House crowd.  They were feeling the music and so was I.  That is a mark of a true House DJ.  When you are able to stay true to yourself and express your love for House.  People will respond.  He kept people on the dance floor. Of course my girl Czboogie did her thing by opening for Meme.  Thank you Crimson Lounge for allowing House into your venue. Let this be a start of something beautiful.

Bad:  This hurts me to say but the lineup at Grandbar last Saturday was the worse so far.  When I attend this venue, I expect a great DJ lineup follow by a great crowd.  It was disappointing by the selective DJ lineup.  It was not cool having the Almeria brothers (Mark and Karl) opened.  Are you kidding?  These gents are the best House innovators and you insulted them by allowing them to open?  On top of that the DJs came after were terrible.  Did you notice the small crowd attended?  John Simmons did not save you.  The night was bad on all levels.  Please be aware you are being watched.  You don’t want to be perceived in the wrong way.  Grandbar set the standards of House venues in Chicago.  We want great House events to continue there.

Ugly:   H2S don’t usually call out DJs but this is an exception.  Ron Carroll was horrible the night I attended. Andre Harris banged it out and kept the crowd on the dance floor.  He did not care where he was or the clientele at B.O.D.I.  Andre stood his House ground!  The result was an awesome set.  Ron, you could have done the same thing.  You were the last DJ on deck. You took the EDM, commercial sellout route.  People told me you are a beast on the decks.  This was not the case last Friday.  Dude, did you noticed people left the dance floor and left the club?  Czboogie brought an awesome House crowd including Meme.  You played a crap set in front of a major House DJ?  You should be ashamed of yourself!  You are allowed to play that garbage overseas.  You are in Chicago.  This is the home of House music.  You play real House when you come here.   This House Head Had Spoken!!
